This privacy statement explains how the Uganda Communications Commission and its partners collect, use, and protect your personal data.
We are committed to protecting your privacy and working with you to understand your data protection rights.

During the eBooster programme, we will collect the following personal data about you:

  • Contact information, such as your name, email address, and phone number.
  • Demographic information, such as your age, gender, and location.
  • Information about your company such as name, size, location, number of employees and annual revenue as well as tax clearance certificates.
  • Information you provide to us when you contact us, such as your feedback or questions.

3:  How shall we collect your personal data?

During the eBooster programme, we will collect your personal data when you provide it to us directly, such as when you sign up for this eBooster competition or contact us with a question.

We may also collect your personal data when you use our website or services, such as when you browse our website

Lastly, we may collect your personal data from third-party sources, such as when we integrate with social media platforms or use advertising networks.

4:  How shall we use your personal data?

We shall use your personal data for a number of purposes, including:


  • To provide you with information about the eBooster programme and UCC digital inclusion activities.
  • To provide you with the feedback about your application status in the eBooster competition.
  • To communicate with you about regulations in the eBooster competition.
  • To disseminate information to you about the eBooster competition.
  • To comply with our legal obligations.

5:  How shall we protect your personal data?

We take the security of your personal data very seriously. We shall use a variety of security measures to protect your personal data from unauthorized access, use, disclosure, alteration, or destruction, including use of a secure data center, firewalls and intrusion detection systems, secured access controls, encryption, and having in place data security policies and procedures.

6:  Who will have access to your personal data?

We may share your personal data with our service providers and partners who help us to provide our services to you. In this eBooster competition, your data may only be shared with our implementating partner, Makerere University Business School and accredited judges of the competition. We may also share data with government agencies, if required by law.

You have a number of rights in relation to your personal data, including:

  • The right to restrict the processing of your personal data.
